News - Community Involvement

Provident Realty Advisors supports and participates in numerous philanthropic events by volunteering time, as well as offering financial resources, to better serve our community. Provident is especially dedicated to serving Abilene-based New Horizons Ranch & Center, Inc., a non-profit agency with an established reputation for providing quality, continuum-of-care treatment services to at-risk children, youth and families across Texas.

Provident has been supporting New Horizons since 2002. Leon Backes, founder and president of Provident, led the efforts and has spent the last four years bridging a strong, impactful relationship between the company and New Horizons, which has created great results for their team and the community.

In 2007, contributions from T. Boone Pickens, the Backes Family and Provident became the seed money to support the groundbreaking of a New Horizons Community Center of Care in Abilene to serve a region in desparate need for such programs. The first phase, Audrey Grace House, is named in memory of a child lost by Mr. and Mrs. Leon Backes and will help serve more than 1,000 children and families each year in Abilene and other Central and West Texas communities.

Most recently, Provident raised over $95,000 at its 8th Annual "Driving for Kids" golf tournament. Among the several attendees was Dallas Stars' Brenden Morrow who played for the cause.
